Privacy Policy for YarnSwap

This Privacy Policy explains how KniTime (“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the YarnSwap mobile app (“the App”). We have designed YarnSwap to collect as little personal data as possible.
1. No account required
YarnSwap does not require you to create an account. We do not ask for or collect your name, email address, or other contact details, except if you choose to email us directly (see “Contact”).
2. Information stored only on your device
Your favorites, recent searches, your own added yarns, and your settings (such as language and display preferences) are stored locally on your device. This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
3. Subscriptions and purchases
YarnSwap offers optional subscriptions and a one-time purchase. Payments are processed by Apple through your App Store account; we never receive or store your payment card details.
To manage subscriptions and unlock premium features, we use RevenueCat as our subscription provider. When you make or restore a purchase, RevenueCat receives transaction information and a randomly generated, anonymous app user identifier. This is used solely to determine whether your premium access is active. It is not linked to your real-world identity.
4. Yarn database and technical data
To show the yarn catalogue and find alternatives, the App connects to our backend, hosted with Supabase. In delivering this service, standard technical information (such as your IP address and request data) may be processed by our hosting provider to operate and secure the service. We do not use this information to identify you personally.
5. How we use information
We use the limited information described above only to: provide and maintain the App’s functionality, manage subscriptions and premium access, and keep the service secure and working. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
6. Third-party services
The App relies on the following third parties, each with their own privacy practices:
- Apple (App Store payments and receipts)
- RevenueCat (subscription management)
- Supabase (database hosting)
7. Data retention
On-device data remains until you delete it in the App or uninstall the App. Subscription records held by Apple and RevenueCat are retained according to their respective policies.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data relating to you, or to object to certain processing. Because we do not maintain user accounts, most of your data is under your direct control on your device. For any request, contact us at info@knitime.com.
9. Children
YarnSwap is a general-audience app about knitting and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version.
