Terms of Use for YarnSwap

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the YarnSwap mobile app (“the App”), provided by KniTime. By using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

YarnSwap helps you browse a yarn catalogue and find alternative yarns based on factors such as fiber content, gauge, meterage, and needle size. The suggestions are provided for guidance and inspiration only. They are not a guarantee that a suggested yarn will be suitable for any specific pattern or project. You are responsible for checking suitability yourself — for example by knitting a gauge swatch — before starting a project.

2. Free and premium features

Some features are available for free, including browsing and searching the yarn catalogue. Other features — such as finding alternative yarns and adding your own yarns — require premium access through a subscription or a one-time purchase.

3. Subscriptions, trials, and purchases

YarnSwap offers auto-renewing subscriptions (monthly and yearly) and a one-time lifetime purchase. Current prices are shown in the App before you buy.

  • Subscriptions may include a free trial period as stated in the App. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription automatically converts to a paid subscription.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your App Store account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device’s App Store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • The lifetime option is a one-time purchase that grants premium access without recurring billing.

All payments are processed by Apple through your App Store account. Refunds, where applicable, are handled by Apple in accordance with App Store policies.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use the App only for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes, and not to misuse, copy, or attempt to extract the App’s catalogue or content for redistribution.

5. Intellectual property

The App, its design, and the curated yarn catalogue are owned by KniTime and are protected by applicable laws. Yarn names, brands, and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only.

6. Disclaimer

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”. While we work to keep the yarn information accurate and up to date, we do not warrant that it is complete, current, or error-free. Yarn alternative suggestions are guidance only, as described in section 1.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, KniTime is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the App, including project outcomes resulting from yarn substitutions.

8. Changes

We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
